Q: What kind of owner is BrightStar looking for?

A: We know that our proven business model works, so finding the right owners is very important to us. Our typical franchisee is either a mid-level manager or above who has 5 years experience managing at least 3 people or more. Some have owned businesses before, but it is not a prerequisite. You need to be compassionate and caring. You also need to be able to build relationships, network, be resourceful, and have a net worth of $300,000.

Most of all, while we can teach you to run a successful senior care franchise, our owners also must have a passion to make a difference in the lives of seniors.


Q: How much more profitable is healthcare staffing than homecare?

A: It takes an average of two to three hours of homecare to equal one hour of medical staffing profit. Medical staffing is much more profitable than homecare.

Also, by offering staffing services, you will also be able to expand your potential market by meeting the needs of homecare clients such as quadriplegics and high-tech pediatric clients. There is no reason why you should not offer staffing services!

Q: Do I need medical or healthcare experience?

A: No. While it might be helpful, we did not have any medical or healthcare experience when we started. What is absolutely necessary is a passion to succeed. We’ll supply the necessary framework to give you every opportunity to do so.

Q: What’s the difference between Medical and Non-Medical Companies?

A: The major difference is that Medical firms are able to offer hands-on care. Non-medical firms are not able to touch their clients in any way having to do with their care. Medical firms are also able to offer wound care, injections, blood draws and physical therapy for example. Non-Medical firms offer little more than basic household tasks and companionship. Non-medical firms in our area actually refer clients to us as they are no longer able to provide the necessary services.

Medical firms are also able to provide care to clients who have much higher needs such as quadriplegics and high-tech pediatric cases. If the client needs care from more than one specialist, a medical firm can coordinate a team of caregivers to provide these services. Medical firms are able to provide every service that nursing homes and assisted living facilities are able to in the comfort of the client’s own home. Clients are able to stay where they live their best without the worry of receiving the necessary care or having to move if their condition worsens.

As a medical franchise you will be able to reach many more potential clients. You will be able to bill long term care insurance and accept other types of insurance cases.

The initial week of training at our headquarters in Chicago will establish the foundation for your success. This training will help you put your business on the fast track. There will be much to learn, but you will always feel comfortable and in control.
